League Rules

Article 1 - Driver's Conduct

1.1 - RESPECT: RealRacers Inc. is for everyone's fun and enjoyment; let's respect each other on and off the track.

1.1.2 - NO FLAMING: Negative or Degrading comments about others will NOT be tolerated. Remember, things happen on the track that you cannot control. If you cannot control your temper and treat others with respect, RealRacers Inc. is not the place for you. The League Admins reserve the right to suspend or expel a driver from the league for violation of this rule.

1.1.3 - NO COMPLAINING ON THE FORUMS: If you have a complaint or a problem with another driver, email the league admin for resolution. Posting on the forum or emailing any negative comments to and about other drivers are violations of this rule may result in suspension or expulsion. Furthermore, do not type anything during the race, during green or yellow that is negative or a complaint about the race, rules or decisions made by the league.

1.1.4 - CHATTING: Chatting during green flag racing is prohibited. Please keep your chat during green flag racing to the standard auto-chat type messages - thank you, sorry, pass high, etc. Chatting during yellow conditions is acceptable so long as you can maintain your speed and proper spacing. Also, once we enter turn three on the final pace lap before a restart, please eliminate any chatter other than race chat.

Article 2 - Racing Procedures

2.1 - STARTS AND RESTARTS: The first place car has control of the field. Jumping of the restart will not be tolerated and may result in a black flag - the league admin reserves the right to penalize a driver (black flag) considered jumping the restart. Make sure you are lined up in a tight group for restarts. Maintain a minimum of 0.3 seconds from the car in front of you.

2.1.1 - PASSING ON RESTARTS: Passing on the restarts is permitted. However, do not jump restarts, pass safely.

2.2 - BLOCKING: You must maintain your line at all times, blocking is not permitted, if a car is passing you, do not change your line to block.

2.3 - PASSING: On superspeedways, there will be no passing below the yellow line. A driver suspected of passing below the yellow line without withdrawing the position back to the driver passed shall result in a black flag penalty. League admins reserve the right to issue penalties to suspect driver(s).

2.4 - DIVE BOMBING: Absolutely no dive-bombing is allowed, dive-bombing only results in accidents. Dive-bombing refers to when a trailing car goes into the corner at a higher rate of speed and dives underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into the bottom line. In order to have the inside, the trailing car must have its fender to the front of the leading car's back tire to enter the corner below the leading car, else the trailing car must back down to avoid wrecking.

2.5 - PIT STOPS: All drivers must call out all pit entrances and exits during green flag racing. When pitting under green flag racing drivers must announce their pit stop while on the backstretch prior to slowing down to pit road speed.

2.6 - LAPPED CARS: If a yellow flag condition occurs with ten or less laps to go all drivers a lap or more down MUST pit during their allowable pit access to allow lead lap cars toward the front, lapped cars do not need to enter their pit stalls but must wait for the lead laps car to pass while on pit lane. The flag person at the end of pit road will provide the green "go" sign when all cars have cleared for a safe entry onto the racing surface.

Article 3 - Yellow Flag Procedures

3.1 - RACING BACK TO THE LINE: Racing back to take a yellow flag is NOT PERMITTED at RealRacers Inc. with exceptions. When the yellow flag is announced lead lap cars are required to lift off the gas in a controlled, gradual, and safe manner keeping their position intact. The leader must remain at a reasonable speed pass the start/finish line - DO NOT INSTANTLY HIT BRAKES WHEN CAUTION COMES OUT. Lift off the gas and allow the car to "coast" around the racing surface till picking up the pace car. The leader may allow lapped cars to pass to regain. The following are exceptions to the rule.

3.1.1 - Passing is permitted when there are ten or less laps to go in the race.

3.1.2 - Lapped cars may continue at a safe speed in order to attempt to gain a lap.

3.1.3 - Passing to avoid wrecked cars but do not race back to the line passing other cars not involved in the incident.

3.2 - PACE LAPS / CAUTION LAPS: Maintain a steady speed anytime the pace car is out. If the car in front of you warps or otherwise disappears from your screen do not move up to his spot unless a disconnection notice is posted. If the car does not reappear on the start/restart, maintain your position and smoothly accelerate - don't brake. The car in front of you - not the green flag - controls the start.

3.3 - YELLOW FLAGS: During yellow flag laps all drivers will maintain a minimum distance of no farther than 0.5 seconds between them and the car ahead of them. This is to allow everyone to have the same advantage while pitting. It is recommended to stagger your position on the track to give more room to avoid any suddenly stopping cars ahead of you. Staggering position means to take the opposite lane of the car in front of you - not lining up directly behind them.

Article 4 - Equipment Requirements

4.1 - DRIVING EQUIPMENT: A driving wheel is not required but highly recommended, any other driving device such as a joystick, mouse, keyboard are nowhere near as consistent because of the difficulty to maintain a line during a race.

4.2 - INTERNET CONNECTION: High-speed connections are preferred and recommended but exceptions are allowed upon inspection as long as warps are minor. The league admin reserves the right to request a warping driver to park the car and retire from the race.

Article 5 - The Provisional System

5.1 - DEFINITION: A provisional is defined as final event points for a race that cannot be attended by a league driver. The pre-approved (see section 5.2) request will earn the driver last place points without bonuses for the event. There is a 4 race limit (per series) of provisionals requested.

5.2 - REQUESTING A PROVISIONAL: All provisional requests must be made prior to the race if at all possible. This can be done through a posting in the forum under the respected series the driver is requesting a provisional for. Once the race has concluded no provisional requests will be accepted with little exceptions.

Article 6 - Driver's Penalties

6.1 - CAUTIONS: A driver who causes a caution will be required to receive the "end of the longest line" (EOLL) penalty prior to the following restart. To receive this penalty the driver should speed onto pit road, stop for service, and speed off pit road. At any time, an admin can ask a driver to retire from the race due to causing excessive yellow flags.

6.2 - NEW DRIVER EVALUATIONS: All new drivers must be evaluated during the official practice session before an event. League admins reserve the right to reject any new drivers during that practice session if they see fit (cannot hold a safe racing line, connection issues, etc)

Article 7 - Lucky Dog Reward

7.1 - GENERAL: When a caution comes out, the first car a lap down will receive a lap as part of the Lucky Dog Rule but this driver has to meet certain requirements before rewarded a lap after said driver takes the green flag on the ensuing restart.

7.1.1 - EXCEPTIONS: The Lucky Dog driver cannot be the cause of the caution. If the driver is in the lucky dog position but is involved in the incident, said driver will not be awarded the lucky dog and no lucky dog is awarded for this incident.

7.1.2 - PROCESS: Driver must pit after all the lead lap cars completed service. Driver should speed onto pit road, stop for service, and speed off pit road to receive a game mandated "end of the longest line" (EOLL) penalty. Failure to restart at the end of the longest line will result in no lucky dog award.  In the event the driver receives a black flag after the restart, driver should inform the league admin so black flag can be cleared. The EOLL penalty will ensure the driver restarts in the back of the pack to receive the lucky dog award.

Article 8 - Cheating

8.1 - GENERAL: Any driver can be evaluated by the league admin on an as needed basis. The league admins reserve the right to request a tire check and/or any drivers race replay at any time before said driver has disconnected from the race server. Failure to comply may result in loss of position.
